Grok Bot

AI teammates · xAI

AI teammates that finish work in the background, using a persistent cloud computer, connectors, websites and files, with approvals for sensitive steps.

What it is

Grok Bot gives you AI teammates (bots) that complete work rather than only answering questions. Per its public FAQ, bots use a persistent cloud computer, connected tools, websites and files; keep working in the background; keep role-specific context; and coordinate with each other. Desktop apps cover macOS, Windows and Linux, with companion mobile apps.

What it's best at

  • Recurring operational work across several web tools
  • Background tasks with approvals for sensitive steps
  • Routines that run on a schedule or after an event
  • Coordinating several bots on one job

How it works

  1. Describe the job; a bot works on its own screen of a shared cloud computer.
  2. It uses connectors when available and can use many browser-based tools without one.
  3. Logins, CAPTCHAs and two-factor codes are handed to you through a computer takeover.
  4. Sensitive or consequential actions can stop for your approval under Auto-review and "Ask first" rules.
  5. Plugins (for example Railway's) add tools and hosted MCP servers through OAuth.

Ideal use cases

  • A daily routine that summarizes app usage from Railway logs
  • Updating a CRM or project board from inbound email, with approval before sending
  • Research that spans several websites, saved to files

Limits

  • Sites may block automation or need a fresh login; the bot hands those steps to you.
  • Bots share one computer per user, so don't treat separate bots as a security boundary.
  • Plan names, usage limits and prices change; check x.ai/bot.

How it pairs with your tools
