Keep the human approval step: You check numbers before the report is shared.

Starter prompt

Goal: Replace a day of copying numbers out of dashboards with a reviewed report. Tools involved: Semrush, PostHog, Notion. Your part: returns rankings and traffic trends; returns signups, activation and key events; writes the report, describing trends in plain language. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.

What we checked

Semrush lists “generate monthly traffic and SEO reports automatically in Google Docs or Notion” as a Semrush MCP use case; requests use API units. PostHog’s MCP server is free to connect and can run analytics queries; tools that use LLMs internally may bill as PostHog AI spend and appear only when AI data processing is on. Notion MCP can create pages in any workspace you can access.

Check your AI client’s connector limits before you combine three servers: on Claude’s Free plan, you can add only one custom connector.

Set it up

  1. Connect Semrush MCP (it needs a plan with API units), PostHog MCP and Notion MCP in the same AI client.
  2. Keep a fixed report prompt: which domains, keywords and date range from Semrush; which events and funnels from PostHog; and the Notion page to write to.
  3. Ask the AI to show its source numbers in a table under each section, so you can check them quickly.
  4. Compare the totals against the Semrush and PostHog dashboards before you share the page.
