Not advice
IonBin provides general information and software comparisons, not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Tax and legal rules vary by situation and jurisdiction; consult a qualified professional (CPA, enrolled agent or attorney) before acting.
AI tools can make mistakes. Verify every figure against the original documents and official IRS or state guidance before filing or signing.
Redact Social Security numbers, account numbers and EINs before uploading documents to any AI assistant, and check its data-retention settings. Upload originals only to the filing or signing software.
Check sensitive figures in the source app; approve any change
Human step
Confirmed
Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.
Human approval
Limit access to people who may see HR data. You approve every change.
Watch out for
Keep the human approval step: Limit access to people who may see HR data. You approve every change.
Starter prompt
Goal: Answer people-ops questions without digging through dashboards. Tools involved: Deel, Gusto (alternative). Your part: returns people, contracts, payroll and time-off data; returns payroll and people data; answers and summarizes. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.

What we checked
Deel’s hosted MCP server exposes Deel API operations as tools at three permission levels. Organization tools, such as listing people, need organization-level scopes. Worker tools, such as submitting a time-off request, act for one worker. Public tools return reference data like countries and currencies. Clients connect with OAuth, or a personal access token if they don’t support OAuth. Gusto’s MCP server uses OAuth and lets you pick the categories of data the client can reach. Gusto says every write comes back to you for confirmation. It also asks you to use the server in isolation, with no other MCP servers in the same session, through trusted clients, with automatic tool execution turned off.
Set it up
Connect Deel or Gusto from your AI client with an admin account, and grant only the data categories or scopes you need.
For Gusto, start a session with no other MCP servers connected.
Ask for headcount, upcoming time off or recent payroll totals.
Check sensitive figures in Deel or Gusto, and approve any change yourself.
