Licensing

ElevenLabs says content generated on a paid plan comes with commercial rights. On the free plan you may use it only non-commercially, with attribution. If your audio editions support a business, generate them on a paid plan. Check the voice’s own terms as well, especially for cloned or shared voices.

Set it up

  1. Connect ElevenLabs to your AI platform. In Claude, add a custom connector with https://api.elevenlabs.io/v1/mcp; ElevenLabs also lists one-click installs for ChatGPT, Cursor and others. Sign-in is OAuth, with no API key to copy.
  2. Ask the AI to adapt each article for listening: shorter sentences, no tables, and spoken descriptions of any charts.
  3. Generate the audio and listen to the whole file before you publish it. Fix names and numbers the voice gets wrong.
  4. For a large back catalog, a short script calling the ElevenLabs API can batch the work instead of the chat connector.
