Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.

Human approval

You review every imported memory.

Watch out for

Imported memory can include things you never meant to keep. Read it all.

What we checked (2026-10-17)

Anthropic’s help page says memory imports are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans on the web and in Claude Desktop. You open Settings > Memory and select “Start import” (on the legacy memory experience it sits under Settings > Capabilities). The flow shows a prompt to run in your current assistant and a box to paste the result into; Claude extracts the key information as individual memory entries that you can review in the memory panel. See how to switch AI assistants without losing context.

Set it up

  1. In Claude, open Settings > Memory and select Start import, then copy the prompt.
  2. Run the prompt in ChatGPT and paste its answer back into Claude.
  3. Read every extracted memory and delete anything wrong, outdated or sensitive.
  4. Move your durable instructions, style guide and SOPs into Markdown files in Obsidian, so any assistant can read them next time.
