Add a writing-quality gate before publishing
Marketing content & social · checked 2026-10-16
A small script calls Grammarly’s Writing Score API on every draft before it reaches your CMS; drafts below your threshold go back for edits, and a batch audit queues rewrites of older pages. Grammarly’s APIs need an Enterprise or Education institution-wide license.

Goal
Keep quality consistent when more people (and AIs) are writing.
Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.
Human approval
An editor makes the final call on every flagged draft.
Watch out for
Keep the human approval step: An editor makes the final call on every flagged draft.
Starter prompt
Goal: Keep quality consistent when more people (and AIs) are writing. Tools involved: Grammarly, ClickUp. Your part: writes the script that sends drafts for scoring; gets a rewrite task for each low-scoring page. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.

Computed from the MCP and API steps only: "Confirmed" needs the tool's docs to name the platform and the platform to support the connection. Browser, upload and human steps work from any platform.
What we checked
Grammarly’s Writing Score API takes a document and returns an overall score plus separate scores for engagement, correctness, delivery and clarity. Grammarly suggests uses like “introduction of quality thresholds for texts in business processes”. Only admins with Grammarly Enterprise or Grammarly for Education institution-wide licenses can create API credentials, so this gate isn’t available on individual or small-team plans. ClickUp’s MCP server, on every ClickUp plan, can create the rewrite tasks. An editor still makes the final call on each flagged draft.
Set it up
A Grammarly Enterprise admin creates OAuth 2.0 credentials for the Writing Score API.
Your coding agent writes a small script that uploads each draft, polls for the result and compares the overall score with your threshold. Pick the threshold yourself; Grammarly doesn’t set one.
Run it as a pre-publish check, and in batch over older pages to build a rewrite queue in ClickUp.
