Run a founder launch checklist in ClickUp

Ops & admin automation · checked 2026-10-17

Track each launch step in ClickUp through its MCP server: form the company, get an EIN from the IRS site, open a bank account, set up Xero and connect Stripe. Each step is done by you in the official tool.

Not advice

IonBin provides general information and software comparisons, not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Tax and legal rules vary by situation and jurisdiction; consult a qualified professional (CPA, enrolled agent or attorney) before acting.

AI tools can make mistakes. Verify every figure against the original documents and official IRS or state guidance before filing or signing.

Redact Social Security numbers, account numbers and EINs before uploading documents to any AI assistant, and check its data-retention settings. Upload originals only to the filing or signing software.

Requirements vary by state. File through official sources such as the USPTO trademark search and your state’s Secretary of State site.

Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.

Human approval

You complete every filing and account opening yourself.

Watch out for

Keep the human approval step: You complete every filing and account opening yourself.

Starter prompt

Goal: Get from idea to a company that can invoice, with nothing forgotten. Tools involved: ClickUp, Xero, Stripe. Your part: holds the checklist; an ai assistant creates and updates tasks over mcp; lists organisation details and the chart of accounts, so the agent can tick off the setup task; reads the balance and recent charges, so the agent can confirm payments are coming in. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.

Computed from the MCP and API steps only: "Confirmed" needs the tool's docs to name the platform and the platform to support the connection. Browser, upload and human steps work from any platform.

What we checked

  • ClickUp MCP works on all ClickUp plans and manages tasks with assignees, priorities and due dates, so the agent can build the checklist and mark items done as you report back.
  • Formation. Northwest (from $79), doola (Starter $297 a year) and Firstbase (from $99 one-time, Delaware or Wyoming) all form companies, with state fees extra (checked 2026-10-17). doola’s MCP server can walk an agent through a Wyoming LLC; the others are done in the browser. Steps and fees differ by state and provider.
  • EIN. The IRS issues EINs online at no cost, usually immediately if the application is approved. The IRS warns about websites that charge for an EIN. You must finish the application in one session.
  • Xero MCP (Xero’s local server) can read organisation details and accounts. Stripe MCP can read the balance and charges; turn on tool approval in your client.

Set it up

  1. Ask the agent to create the checklist in ClickUp: formation, EIN, bank account, Xero, Stripe.
  2. Do each step yourself in the official tool and tell the agent when it’s done.
  3. Let the agent confirm the Xero and Stripe steps by reading them over MCP.
