Combine transcript editing speed with short-form polish.

Starter prompt
Goal: Combine transcript editing speed with short-form polish. Tools involved: Descript, CapCut. Your part: rough cut by editing the transcript; your ai assistant can cut filler and pauses through descript’s mcp server. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.

Computed from the MCP and API steps only: "Confirmed" needs the tool's docs to name the platform and the platform to support the connection. Browser, upload and human steps work from any platform.
What we checked (2026-10-17)
Descript MCP can import media, make edits with Underlord (for example, removing filler words) and export transcripts as text, Markdown, HTML, RTF or SRT. It can’t download a rendered video without publishing to a Descript web link, so export the file from the Descript app.
CapCut has no official MCP server or public editing API, so the polish happens by hand in the app or the browser editor. CapCut lists a $0 tier, and Pro has a reference price of US$19.99 a month.
Export settings. Neither app documents a recommended hand-off format. Export at the same resolution and frame rate you’ll edit in, and keep a copy of the SRT in case you want Descript’s captions rather than CapCut’s.
Set it up
Ask your assistant to remove filler words and long pauses in Descript, then read the transcript and fix any cuts that change the meaning.
Export the video.
Import it into CapCut, add captions, effects and a vertical crop.
Watch the full clip once with the sound off to check the captions, then post.
