Monitor competitor and vendor pages for changes
Research & market intelligence · checked 2026-10-16
Schedule an Apify crawl of competitor or vendor pages (pricing, features), compare each run with the last one in n8n, have an AI step summarize what changed, and log it to Notion for review.

Goal
Know when a competitor changes pricing or positioning, or when vendor facts on your own site go stale.
Connects through: API · Built-in integration · MCP
Review and act; update any affected pages yourself
Human step
Confirmed
Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.
Human approval
You decide what to change. Respect each site’s terms.
Watch out for
Keep the human approval step: You decide what to change. Respect each site’s terms.
Starter prompt
Goal: Know when a competitor changes pricing or positioning, or when vendor facts on your own site go stale. Tools involved: Apify, n8n, Notion. Your part: summarizes what changed and why it matters; logs the change note. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.
Assembled from this page’s goal and steps. Paste it into your AI platform and adjust it to your situation.
Apify: code execution to verify (or run it in Make or n8n); Notion: pairing not named in vendor docs
Perplexity
To verify
Apify: code execution to verify (or run it in Make or n8n); Notion: pairing not named in vendor docs
Computed from the MCP and API steps only: "Confirmed" needs the tool's docs to name the platform and the platform to support the connection. Browser, upload and human steps work from any platform.
What we checked
Apify schedules can run an Actor or task automatically, and Apify’s n8n node can start a workflow when a run finishes. n8n’s Compare Datasets node compares two input streams on the fields you choose, such as page URL plus page text, and separates items that match from items that differ. Make also has Apify modules that run Actors and fetch dataset items, but we didn’t check a comparison step in Make, so this page now uses n8n. Your AI platform summarizes the differences, and Notion’s MCP server can log the note. You decide what to change, and you respect each site’s terms.
Set it up
Create an Apify task that crawls the competitor pages you care about and schedule it weekly.
In n8n, start a workflow when the run finishes and load this run’s and last run’s dataset items.
Compare them with Compare Datasets on URL and page text.
Send only the changed pages to a model for a short summary of what changed and why it matters.
Log the summary in Notion and review it before acting.
