2You Spot-check captions, upload them with the video and publish Human step Confirmed

Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.

You spot-check before publishing.

Watch out for

Keep the human approval step: You spot-check before publishing.

What we checked (2026-10-17)

  • Rev API is a REST API for placing and tracking orders and downloading finished captions. It has separate endpoints for human caption orders and AI caption orders, webhooks for order status, and a sandbox for testing.
  • Pricing starts at $1.99 per minute for human services and $0.25 per minute for AI services. The free plan doesn’t include API access. Essentials adds it.
  • Turnaround times aren’t listed in the sources we checked, so check them when you order.
  • Rev has no official MCP server.

Set it up

  1. Export the finished video from your editor, whether Synthesia, PlayPlay or anything else.
  2. Order human captions for anything public-facing, or AI captions for internal clips.
  3. Download the caption file and upload it with the video, rather than burning captions in. Separate files are easier to fix.
  4. Spot-check names, product terms and numbers before publishing.
  5. When volume grows, move ordering to the API and use the webhook to know when captions are ready.
