Write a weekly project status update

Ops & admin automation · checked 2026-10-16

4You The project lead edits and sends Human step Confirmed

Confirmed means the vendor documents it (linked). It doesn't mean IonBin has tested it. AI-platform and human steps need no source.

Human approval

The project lead sends it.

Watch out for

Keep the human approval step: The project lead sends it.

Starter prompt

Goal: Send consistent status updates in minutes. Tools involved: ClickUp, monday.com (alternative). Your part: returns tasks and their status; returns board items; writes the update. Work step by step, show me each draft or proposed change, and wait for my approval before anything is sent, published, signed, filed or changed in a live system.

What we checked

ClickUp’s MCP server works on all plans and supports only OAuth, so the assistant sees what your ClickUp account can see. Without the Everything AI add-on, ClickUp caps MCP calls per rolling 24 hours: 100 on Free Forever, 300 on Core or Unlimited, 1,000 on Business, 2,500 on Business Plus, 5,000 on Enterprise and 25,000 on Enterprise Plus. The caps apply per workspace and per client, and each tool call counts as one. ClickUp hasn’t added any deletion tools. monday.com’s MCP server includes tools to get board items, board activity and updates. It accepts an API token, your own OAuth app or dynamic client registration, and admins approve connections beyond the pre-approved agents. The project lead edits and sends the update.

Set it up

  1. Connect ClickUp or monday.com in your AI client.
  2. Ask for this week’s completed tasks, open blockers and items due next week for one project.
  3. Ask for a short status update with progress, blockers and next steps.
  4. The project lead checks it against the board, then edits and sends.
