What we checked (2026-10-17)

Google lists YouTube URLs of public videos, web URLs, PDFs, Google Docs and several other file types as supported Gemini Notebook sources. The free Standard plan allows 50 sources per notebook and 100 notebooks, and paid Google AI plans raise those limits (subject to change). Answers cite the sources they draw on, which makes the spot-check quick: open the cited passage or timestamp and confirm the claim says what the summary says.

Set it up

  1. Create a notebook for the topic and add the videos, papers and articles.
  2. Ask for a list of the claims that matter to your question, each with its source.
  3. Open a sample of the citations, and every one you plan to quote, and fix anything misread.
  4. Paste the checked list into Claude and ask it to rewrite it in your note template, keeping every source link.
  5. Save the note in your Obsidian vault.
