What we checked
Intuit publishes an official QuickBooks Online MCP server on GitHub. It’s a local server: it runs on your machine and connects to one QuickBooks Online company, and you have to register an app on the Intuit Developer portal first. It has 145 tools, covering create, read, update, delete and search for 29 record types, including invoices, customers and purchases, plus reports such as profit and loss and aged receivables. Read tools are always on; flags turn off the create, update and delete tools. Intuit’s hosted MCP server is an invitation-only pilot for partners. FreshBooks offers a Claude connector that answers read-only questions about profit, cash, invoices and clients, limited by your FreshBooks role.
