A hosted Postgres platform with auth, storage and APIs, and an official MCP server that can be scoped to one project and set to read-only.

Best for
  • A managed Postgres database your agent can read through MCP
  • Small apps that need auth and storage
Not for
  • Production writes from an agent without review
  • Free projects you need running all the time (they pause after a week idle)

Top use cases

  • Connect an AI assistant to a project through the hosted MCP server source ↗
  • Run the MCP server read-only and scoped to one project source ↗

In depth

MCP scope and approval

The hosted server supports project scoping and read-only mode. Destructive SQL confirmation requires available server elicitation and a compatible client; unsupported, skipped or unclassified requests may have no additional confirmation. Keep manual review for production writes. Claude Code setup is documented. source ↗

Free and Pro

Free includes a 500 MB database and two active projects; idle projects pause after a week. Pro starts at $25/month, with the first project included and additional projects from $10/month. Compute and usage can add charges; the paid plan includes $10/month of compute credits. source ↗

File input and APIs

Dashboard CSV imports support files up to 100 MB; larger migrations use other documented methods such as pgloader. The database exposes a generated REST API governed by configured database permissions. source ↗

How to use it with AI

How Supabase connects to each AI platform: native connector or MCP, API through code the agent writes, browser control, or file upload.

Claude (incl. Claude Code) Not documented Claude Code configuration listed. A named plugin, skill or CLI does not by itself establish an MCP/native connector pairing. Confirmed is reserved for evidence of the specific connection route. The current named integrations include plugins, skills and CLIs, so a named platform alone does not confirm MCP or a native connector. Inferred means each side documents a relevant capability, but no document describes the pairing. Code execution still needs network and credential access; file handling still needs a compatible format and transfer direction. Not documented means the records do not establish the route. IonBin has not tested these pairings. Recorded Oct 18, 2026.

Connection capabilities to compare

An official MCP server is documented for this tool. These platforms separately document MCP client support: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Gemini (Google), Google Antigravity, Grok, Grok Bot, Lindy, LM Studio, Mistral Vibe, OpenAI Codex. This inventory does not establish compatible transport, authentication or actions for a pairing. Check the connection matrix and linked sources.

Automation hubs to assess for a custom API connection: Gumloop, Make, n8n, Zapier. Verify credentials, supported requests, limits and error handling; no configured integration is implied.

Hosting and deployment

Deploy apps, workers and databases from source or containers with managed infrastructure. Application configuration, access, backups and production readiness still need attention.
