Short answer
Start with a small permitted collection and a defined retrieval task. A database, ingestion process and a compatible read interface are separate components. On Railway, use a dedicated read-only database role for retrieval; hosting-management MCP is not SQL access. On Supabase, choose project and read-only controls. Test permissions and deletion behavior before expanding.

How this proposed stack fits together
Configure and test each handoff separately. Preserve source IDs, access rules, update times and deletions so copied context does not outlive its permission. Use a separate administrative identity for approved schema changes; the assistant’s routine retrieval credential should not have those rights.
