Need

I need a weekly business report without building it by hand

Verified Oct 17, 2026 Review by Apr 15, 2027 3 sources
Short answer

Keep numbers in the systems that create them. Have an automation hub copy a few key metrics into one sheet on a schedule, then let an AI assistant read that sheet and write the summary. Start with three metrics. The agent reads one clean table, so its claims are easy to check.

What it is

Pulling numbers from your CRM, payments and analytics into a weekly update is a classic task to hand off. Dan Martell puts the difference this way: AI chat buys back a little time, while an agent lets you let go of whole areas of the business (view: Martell). A recurring report is a small, well-defined area to start with.

How it works

The Business data & reporting stack lays out the flow:

  1. An automation hub (n8n, Zapier or Make) pulls deals and payments on a schedule.
  2. The rows land in one Google Sheet.
  3. An assistant (such as Claude) reads the sheet and drafts the summary.
  4. The report posts to Notion or email for review.

Benefits

  • Consistent numbers. The hub copies the data, and the model only interprets it.
  • Cheap to run. Summarising existing data suits a light, low-cost tier (see model tiers). Christopher Penn makes the same point about simple jobs: use a small model such as Claude Haiku rather than a vendor’s most expensive one (view: Penn).

Limits and risks

  • Check the maths. Have the summary quote the sheet’s numbers rather than compute new ones, and spot-check it each week.
  • Data access. Give the hub read-only credentials where possible.
  • No time-saved figure. IonBin hasn’t measured one and won’t estimate it; time your own first month.
