Make videos with code: compose scenes in React and render MP4s, including in bulk from a dataset. Free for individuals and companies of up to three people; larger companies need a Company License.

Best for
  • Data-driven or templated video at scale
  • Coding agents generating video projects from prompts
Not for
  • One-off edits by non-developers (Remotion is a React framework)

Top use cases

  • Create videos programmatically with React source ↗
  • Render one video per row of a dataset source ↗

In depth

License

Remotion is free for individuals and companies of up to three people, with commercial use allowed. Companies of 4+ need a Company License: Remotion for Creators at $25/month per seat, or Remotion for Automators at $0.01 per render with a $100/month minimum. Checked 2026-10-17. source ↗

How to use it with AI

How Remotion connects to each AI platform: native connector or MCP, API through code the agent writes, browser control, or file upload.

PlatformMCP / connectorAPI (agent-written code)BrowserUpload / export
Claude (incl. Claude Code) No documented route Confirmed Claude (incl. Claude Code) can run code; Remotion publishes an API. Remotion API ↗Claude (incl. Claude Code) docs ↗ Confirmed Claude Code with the Claude in Chrome extension (Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers) Claude (incl. Claude Code) browser docs ↗ Confirmed Export from Remotion, then works on the files in your project; chat accepts attachments Claude (incl. Claude Code) docs ↗
OpenAI Codex No documented route Confirmed OpenAI Codex can run code; Remotion publishes an API. Remotion API ↗OpenAI Codex docs ↗ Confirmed Only in the ChatGPT desktop app; not in the Codex CLI or IDE extension OpenAI Codex browser docs ↗ Confirmed Export from Remotion, then works on local repositories OpenAI Codex docs ↗
Google Antigravity No documented route Confirmed Google Antigravity can run code; Remotion publishes an API. Remotion API ↗Google Antigravity docs ↗ Confirmed Browser subagent via /browser, documented as an Antigravity App feature; the IDE has separate browser docs Google Antigravity browser docs ↗ Confirmed Export from Remotion, then works on local projects and worktrees Google Antigravity docs ↗

Confirmed means both the tool's and the platform's official docs describe that route (links in the cell); IonBin has not tested every pairing. Not documented means it may work, but no official docs describe that route end to end. Checked Oct 17, 2026.

Alternatives

Descript

Video & podcast editing

Edits video and podcasts by editing the transcript. Its MCP server and API let an AI assistant import media, edit projects and export transcripts; imports use media minutes and AI edits use AI credits.

CapCut

Video editing

Video editor for desktop, mobile and web with templates, auto-captions and AI tools such as long-video-to-shorts. No official editing API or MCP server, so AI tools write the script and captions and you edit in CapCut.
