Service

Hosting and deployment

Verified Oct 17, 2026 Review by Jan 15, 2027 6 sources
Short answer

Hosting platforms put your website or app on the internet and redeploy it when code changes. Cloudflare Pages suits static sites like this one, and Railway suits apps with servers and databases. Both have free entry tiers with usage limits, and both document MCP servers, so an agent can check deployments and logs.

What it is

Hosting and deployment services run your site or app and handle the path from code to live URL. Static hosts serve prebuilt files from a global network. App platforms run servers, background jobs and databases.

How it works

  1. Connect a code repository.
  2. Each push triggers a build, and the platform publishes the result to a preview or production URL.
  3. Monitor logs and roll back if something breaks. Agents can do read-only checks through each platform’s MCP server.

Entry tiers (checked 2026-10-17). Cloudflare Pages’ Free plan allows one build at a time and 500 builds a month. Railway’s plans are Free, Hobby ($5 a month, including $5 of usage), Pro ($20 a month, including $20 of usage) and Enterprise. Usage above the included amount is billed on top. See which Cloudflare products you need and hosting an app and database on Railway.

Benefits

  • Preview links for every change make review easy for non-developers.
  • Static hosting is fast and inexpensive for content sites.
  • Managed databases and jobs remove server maintenance.

Limits and risks

  • Usage billing can surprise you during traffic spikes. Set spending limits where the platform offers them.
  • Agent access. Give agents read-only access by default. Deployments should need approval.
  • Secrets. Environment variables hold secrets, so restrict who can read them.
  • Plans change. Plan names, prices and limits change often. This category page re-checks every 90 days, and each tool page carries its own review date.
