Gemini is Google's model family, available through the Gemini app, Google Workspace and the Gemini API. Google's current flagship reasoning model is Gemini 4 Argon, with a 1M-token context window. The Flash line covers fast everyday and agentic work. Sister models handle images (Nano Banana), video (Veo), music (Lyria) and embeddings.
Gemini is Google’s family of models, which covers more media types than most. Text and reasoning models (Argon, the Flash line) sit alongside image, video, music, speech and embedding models, all under one API.
You choose a model endpoint and a version type. Stable IDs don’t change and suit production. Preview IDs can be used in production but may change, with at least two weeks’ notice before deprecation. Latest aliases move to each new release. Experimental IDs are for testing. Agent models such as Deep Research plan and run multi-step research across many sources and return a cited report.
Specs and pricing (checked 2026-10-17). Gemini 3.8 Flash accepts about 1M input tokens and returns up to 65,536.
