Email marketing and newsletters

Short answer

Email marketing platforms send newsletters and automated sequences to subscribers, manage lists and track engagement. Beehiiv and Kit are the examples in IonBin's catalog. Gmail requires bulk senders to authenticate, offer one-click unsubscribe and keep spam rates low, and US law sets opt-out rules, so setup matters as much as copy.

What it is

An email marketing platform manages subscriber lists, designs and sends campaigns, runs automated sequences, and reports opens and clicks. Newsletter-first platforms add growth tools such as referrals and paid subscriptions.

How it works

  1. Collect subscribers through forms with clear consent.
  2. Write campaigns or automations. AI features can draft subject lines and copy.
  3. Authenticate your sending domain and follow inbox-provider rules.

Rules to know (checked 2026-10-17). Google’s sender guidelines say anyone sending more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail must set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Marketing mail must support one-click unsubscribe, and reported spam must stay below 0.30%. In the US, the FTC’s CAN-SPAM guide requires accurate headers and subject lines, a clear ad disclosure, a valid postal address and a working opt-out honored within 10 business days. The FTC says hiring a platform doesn’t transfer your legal responsibility.

Benefits

  • An owned audience you reach without an algorithm in the way.
  • Automations nurture leads while you work on other things.
  • Both catalog tools document MCP servers for agent access.

Limits and risks

  • Deliverability is fragile. It drops quickly if authentication or list hygiene slips.
  • Edit AI drafts. AI-drafted copy still needs a human edit for voice and accuracy.
  • Other laws apply. Privacy and anti-spam laws outside the US can be stricter, for example about consent. Check the rules for where your subscribers are.
  • Plans change. This category page re-checks every 90 days, and each tool page carries its own review date.
