What it is

A newsletter is an owned channel. AI can lower the cost of producing each issue (gathering, summarizing, drafting) without replacing the point of view readers subscribe for.

How it works

1. Collect sources during the week in one place.
2. Ask AI for summaries with links, then pick the stories and add your take.
3. Draft subject lines and test them. beehiiv lists A/B testing from its Lite plan; Kit lists subject-line A/B tests from its Creator plan.
4. Connect your assistant if it helps. beehiiv lists its MCP server on paid plans from Lite up, and AI credits on Pro. Kit’s MCP server is available on its paid plans and can read and write live account data, including subscribers, sequences, broadcasts and tags.
5. Send from an authenticated domain. Google requires every sender to Gmail to set up SPF or DKIM and keep its reported spam rate below 0.3%. Above 5,000 messages a day, it also requires SPF and DKIM together, DMARC, and one-click unsubscribe on marketing messages.
6. Disclose sponsorships and affiliate links. The FTC says an affiliate disclosure should be clear, conspicuous and close to the recommendation. It says “affiliate link” alone may not be understood, while “paid link” next to the link should be adequate.
