What it is
Web Perf guides an agent through auditing a page: record a performance trace, read Core Web Vitals insights, review network requests for blocking or oversized resources, take an accessibility snapshot, and, if the code is available, look at the build setup. It tells the agent to check current thresholds against web.dev and Chrome documentation instead of relying on memory.
Why you might use it
Use it when a marketing site or app feels slow and you want specific, measured fixes rather than generic advice. It asks for findings with estimated impact and says to skip changes with no measurable effect.

Audit a landing page
Example request
Audit https://example.com/pricing for load performance. Report Core Web Vitals, the top three issues by estimated impact and specific fixes.
What to look for. A vitals table, a ranked issue list and concrete fixes.
Before you rely on it. A single lab trace isn't field data. Confirm improvements with real-user measurements where you have them.
Check a build for heavy bundles
Example request
We have the repo. After the trace, check the bundler config for minification, compression and oversized libraries.
What to look for. Codebase findings tied to the trace results.
Before you rely on it. Recommendations to remove code need checking. The skill itself says to confirm something is unused before removing it.

What it asks of your environment.
Requirements
- An agent with browser tooling, ideally Chrome DevTools MCP, for traces and network data.
- Codebase access for the optional fifth phase.
Permissions & data access
- Loads pages in a browser and records traces and network data.
- Reads project configuration files when a codebase is provided. MCP configuration changes need your authorization.
Instructions alone do not enforce a sandbox. The agent host, connected tools and approvals determine what the skill can actually read, change or send.
