Tastefile
Two distinct Tastefile products still need an identity decision.
Understand the resource
What it is.
usetastefile.com offers a Figma-CSS or website-reference workflow and a built-in design.md example. tastefile.ai presents a different coding-agent-history workflow; the @tastefile_ai identity could not be independently tied to either publisher, so no confirmed visit link is assigned.
When it is useful
Use it as an identification lead when an existing frame should guide a new screen.
A proposed application
Put it to work.
This example illustrates a possible use. The proposed workflow and expected result are separate from the bounded checks recorded below.
Try this
Confirm the publisher first, then compare a synthetic frame’s CSS values with the resulting design file.
Result to aim for
A confirmed product identity before any design data is submitted.
Before you start
What you need.
- Confirm the intended publisher before submitting designs or connecting agent history.
- Review the exact workflow's network behavior and data permissions.
The practical boundaries
What to watch for.
- The built-in example at usetastefile.com attempted a generation POST; its local-looking interface is not proof that the whole workflow stays in the browser.
- The similarly named tastefile.ai product exposes an installation command, which was neither run nor treated as an instruction.
Review record
What we could establish.
- Both candidate sites rendered. The usetastefile.com built-in example populated 783 CSS characters and displayed a design.md preview, while an attempted generation POST was blocked by the test guard. Publisher attribution remains unresolved.
The source-review notes describe documentation and identity. The account-free evaluation below records exactly which public interaction or local fixture was checked, what happened, and what remains untested.
Check current access, terms, licensing and data handling before using a resource with your own material.
Runtime and security evaluation
What the evaluation covers.
Both candidate sites work as public pages, but their relationship to @tastefile_ai remains unconfirmed. The built-in example attempted a backend generation request that the guard blocked.
Methods: Public HTTP response · Public browser sample · Source review. A completed check covers the stated sample; it is not a safety certification.
- Target
- Candidate only; attribution unresolved: https://usetastefile.com/
- Version or capture
- Unversioned public page observed 2026-10-19
- Integrity scope
- SHA-256 688400241e741966e626d8e664814478fc256b2069d93ef5047b34cb85f02d36 of one initial HTML response (234016 bytes). This does not fingerprint the entire application or its dependencies.
Test conditions
- Windows; Chrome 155.0.8059.82 headless via Playwright, fresh isolated contexts with a 1365 × 900 viewport.
- Reduced motion requested. GET/HEAD requests allowed; other methods and WebSocket connections blocked.
- No owner browser profile, account, credentials, purchase, upload, private fixture or service write.
Individual checks and observations
Candidate identities
passPublic browser sample: Open usetastefile.com and tastefile.ai in separate fresh contexts.
Observed: Both returned HTTP 200 and described distinct workflows.
Built-in example
passPublic browser sample: Click Try an example without entering user material; keep non-GET traffic blocked.
Observed: The editor populated 783 CSS characters and showed a preview labeled design.md with 160 lines.
Generation request boundary
blockedPublic browser sample: Observe requests during the built-in sample.
Observed: POST /api/generate was attempted and blocked before transmission. The displayed preview does not establish successful backend generation.
Publisher attribution
blockedSource review: Compare public identities and search the exact handle without using an account.
Observed: No primary association between @tastefile_ai and either candidate domain was established.
Security findings and boundaries
Both public candidate pages and the built-in sample's attempted network behavior.
Observed · caution
Example action attempts a generation request
Even the built-in sample initiated POST /api/generate at usetastefile.com. The guard prevented that request. A preview still appeared, so its presence cannot prove that remote generation succeeded or that processing is entirely local.
Documented · caution
The other candidate has a different data surface
tastefile.ai publicly frames its workflow around coding-agent history and an installation command. That is materially different from pasting Figma CSS; no installer or history access was tested.
Practical caveats
- Resolve the publisher identity before recommending an installation or submitting design material.
- Treat the built-in output as a demonstration until generation and data handling are verified.
What remains untested
- No custom CSS, website URL, file, agent history, credential or installation was submitted.
- Candidate functionality does not resolve the original identity ambiguity.
Security limits
- Passive public-page observations and the stated bounded sample only; no exploitation, authenticated authorization, backend, retention or comprehensive dependency audit.
- Request blocking changes application behavior; no secure/safe certification is implied.
