Bento Grids

Study compact feature mosaics and inspect their source references.

What this status means

Understand the resource

What it is.

Bento Grids collects compact, card-based layout references with links back to their sources. Its separate template page points to Figma-oriented starting points; the gallery itself is inspiration rather than a tested production component library.

When it is useful

A page needs to present several related features without making every item look equally important.

A proposed application

Put it to work.

This example illustrates a possible use. The proposed workflow and expected result are separate from the bounded checks recorded below.

Try this

Pick one grid reference, replace its labels with your actual long and short feature descriptions, and test reading order on a narrow screen.

Result to aim for

A layout hypothesis with explicit content and responsiveness checks.

Before you start

What you need.

  • A browser for the gallery and an appropriate design tool for any chosen template.
  • Confirm the original creator's reuse terms before adapting artwork or a template.

The practical boundaries

What to watch for.

  • A reference screenshot does not establish responsive behavior or accessibility.
  • Keep reading order sensible when cards resize or rearrange; a strong visual grid can still produce confusing keyboard navigation.

Review record

What we could establish.

  • The gallery, one example overlay and the template page were inspected in a fresh browser. No template or original artwork was downloaded.
Source coverage and runtime coverage are separate

The source-review notes describe documentation and identity. The account-free evaluation below records exactly which public interaction or local fixture was checked, what happened, and what remains untested.

Check current access, terms, licensing and data handling before using a resource with your own material.

Runtime and security evaluation

What the evaluation covers.

Bounded runtime checkedAccount-free ·

A gallery example opened, its overlay dismissed with Escape, and the template link reached the Figma-oriented template page.

Methods: Public HTTP response · Public browser sample · Source review. A completed check covers the stated sample; it is not a safety certification.

Test conditions

  • Windows; Chrome 155.0.8059.82 headless via Playwright, fresh isolated contexts with a 1365 × 900 viewport.
  • Reduced motion requested. GET/HEAD requests allowed; other methods and WebSocket connections blocked.
  • No owner browser profile, account, credentials, purchase, upload, private fixture or service write.

Individual checks and observations

  1. Gallery preview

    pass

Public browser sample: Open the Chroma example, then dismiss its overlay with Escape.

Observed: One preview close control appeared; the overlay dismissed and navigation became available.

  2. Template navigation

    pass

Public browser sample: Follow Get Bento Templates after closing the preview.

Observed: The browser reached /templates with the Bento Grids Templates title and Figma-oriented template content.

  3. Asset integration

    not-run

Public browser sample: Download and adapt a template in a design or code project.

Observed: No asset was downloaded, installed or tested responsively.

Security findings and boundaries

Public navigation, one preview overlay and passive response/request observations.

Observed · info

Defensive headers on the sampled page

The response included HSTS, nosniff and a restrictive device-permissions policy. These are transport/browser controls on this response, not an application security certification.

Practical advice · caution

Follow the rights back to the source

Check the original creator's permissions before reusing a gallery image or template; attribution is not a reuse license.

Practical caveats

  • Close the preview before using the underlying navigation; its overlay intentionally intercepts pointer input.
  • Test meaningful DOM order and narrow-screen layout in the implementation you build.

What remains untested

  • One example and one navigation path were sampled; no download, paid access or template execution.
  • No responsive-layout, screen-reader or source-code audit.

Security limits

  • Passive public-page observations and the stated bounded sample only; no exploitation, authenticated authorization, backend, retention or comprehensive dependency audit.
  • Request blocking changes application behavior; no secure/safe certification is implied.
